  • Cosmetic facial acupuncture is available here and works as a natural option for those looking to tighten skin and stimulate collagen, without turning to injectables like Botox. This technique uses tiny needles to target areas on the face, helping boost collagen and elastin production over time. Sessions are aimed at smoothing fine lines, enhancing circulation, and toning and relaxing muscles. People often choose this method if they prefer a less invasive approach to skincare and want added wellness benefits beyond just cosmetic improvements.

  • Gift cards are available and can be used for acupuncture sessions, as well as our other services. Gift cards can be bought in person, online, and over the phone. Gift cards can be redeemed in person.

  • During your first acupuncture appointment, you'll start by talking with your practitioner about your health history, current concerns, and goals. Please try to fill out your intake as in depth as possible prior to your appointment, as this will help your acupuncturist prepare.  Your practitioner will ask questions about things like your sleep, digestion, and stress to get a full picture of your health. After that, you’ll get comfortable on a treatment table, and the acupuncturist will gently insert very thin, sterilized needles into specific points on your body based on your needs. Most people feel little to no pain—maybe just a slight pinch or tingling—when the needles go in. You’ll rest with the needles in place for about 45-60 minutes, with soft music and a relaxing environment. Your practitioner will check on you during the session.

You don’t need to do much to prepare. Eat a light meal or snack beforehand—don’t come in with an empty stomach or right after a big meal. Wear loose, comfortable clothing if you can since that makes it easier to access the areas that may be treated. Avoid heavy caffeine or alcohol before your visit and try to be well-hydrated. Please complete your intake paperwork, and if necessary bring a list of any medications or supplements you’re taking. If you have any questions or are nervous, just let your acupuncturist know.

  • Acupuncture sessions can be covered for eligible veterans through the VA Community Care program. To get started, you’ll need to get a referral from your VA doctor or care team. The office staff will reach out once we have received your approved referral. We are not able to book visits on an authorization prior to receiving the preauthorization from Community Care.Community Care also provides referrals for massage and chiropractic care with Calm Spirit. If you’re not sure how to begin, reach out to your VA provider for details on the referral process.

  • Acupuncture can help with hormonal imbalances and seasonal affective symptoms by working to rebalance the body’s energy and support natural hormone function. For issues like mood swings, PMS, and menopause symptomstreatments may focus on balancing the endocrine system and mitigating the side effects of hormonal imbalances. Seasonal affective disorders may start by targeting points that calm the nervous system. All treatments at Calm Spirit are personalized based on your symptoms, history, and diagnosis. A typical plan might start with weekly acupuncture sessions where thin needles are placed at points that support the endocrine system, improve mood, and calm stress. Depending on your needs, other techniques like electroacupuncture or moxibustion might be added. As your body responds, sessions often become less frequent. Lifestyle advice, stress management, and things like herbal formulas may also be suggested to keep progress going between visits. Every plan is tailored, so it’s best to start with a consultation to see what fits you best.

  • You can combine acupuncture with massage therapy or chiropractic care during the same visit, and a lot of people find it helpful for deeper relaxation and better results. The different therapies work together to address pain, stress, or other health concerns on multiple levels.Schedule ahead to assure your appointments line up on the day.

  • Acupuncture is used by many people to help manage chronic back pain and neuropathy. It works by stimulating certain points on the body, which can help reduce pain, improve circulation, and even support nerve function. Some people feel better after just a few sessions, while others might need a series of treatments especially for long-term or severe issues. How many sessions you’ll need depends on your specific situation, how your body responds, and how long you’ve had your symptoms. Combining acupuncture with other therapies, like massage or functional medicine approaches, can also support your healing. If you’re not sure how many sessions you might need, it’s a good idea to start with a consultation so your treatment can be personalized.

  • We do offer electroacupuncture. It’s like traditional acupuncture where thin needles are inserted into specific points, but with electroacupuncture, a mild electric current is sent through the needles. This gentle current helps stimulate the acupoints even more and can boost the effects of pain relief and healing. It’s especially used for deeper muscle relaxation, nerve issues, or when people have stubborn or chronic symptoms that need a bit more than regular acupuncture. You usually feel a light pulsing sensation, but it shouldn’t hurt. Not all of our therapists practice electroacupuncture, so be sure to call if you would like this service.
