What Does Blood Deficiency Mean?

Blood is our lifeline and is responsible for more than we realize. Healthy blood movement carries all of our nutrients, memories, emotions, and aids in each important cycle of life; it is our ease and flow. Blood is one of the 5 vital substance in Traditional Chinese Medicine and extremely important for our health. The lack of ease and flow can cause many different issues and is known as Blood Deficiency within TCM.

Most commonly known as anemia in western medicine, Blood Deficiency can be the result of excessive bleeding, digestion or Spleen Qi deficiency (which is the main source of new blood), or even a negative internal dialogue - convincing yourself that you are undeserving.
