Hot Stones
$30 Add On Service
A variation of a traditional massage, a heated stone massage utilizes smooth and flat hot stones (usually Basalt stones) that are heated in an electric slow-cooker device built specifically for the stones in 120 to 140-degree F water. A massage therapist massages oils into the skin utilizing Swedish massage techniques. This relaxes and makes it easier for the body to absorb heat from the stones. A massage therapist will place a variety of stones on specific points on the body such as the upper and lower back, hands, etc. The stones release heat and where they calm and relax the muscles. When stones cool, they are replaced with another heated one during the duration of a massage. This hot stone massage therapy promotes deep muscle relaxation, alleviates tension, eases stiffness in the muscles and increases metabolism and circulation.
